Dealing with Addictions

Addictions are anything that we turn to on a consistent basis in order to avoid FEARs that we have inside us. When we come  to depend on things like drugs, sex, gambling, social media, shopping, eating or anything else in order to escape our minds that is when it can have a bad affect on our minds and lead to the progression and prolonging of things like anxiety and depression.

Take some time to write down the things you have found yourself depending on to escape your thoughts. Once you understand any addictions you may have begin to cut back on these habits or even cut them out completely if it is safe to do so. I know this can be much easier said than done, my family comes from a long line of addicts of all sorts so I certainly feel for anybody going through this type of pain. What is important is that you have FAITH in yourself that you can do it and remind yourself of the negative impacts that these habits are having on your mind and life. Create a detailed plan for yourself just like with any other goal and stay busy by replacing these habits with more positive ones.
