Replacing Lost Time

One of the hardest things when it comes to overcoming addiction is the time that you will find yourself left with once those negative habits are gone. If you end up simply sitting around when you have been doing these negative behaviors, it will make it almost impossible to keep yourself on the right path. You need to find new healthy habits that can replace these old negative ones so that you can keep your mind occupied and away from those negative thoughts and actions.

I highly recommend that you take up a new hobby of some sort. You can start hiking, biking, rock climbing, reading, playing sports, going to the gym, cooking or whatever it is that makes you happy. Go join a club with like-minded people who like the things you do and make some new friends to spend time with. Whatever it is you choose to do, just make sure that it is something positive. There is no use replacing negative habits with other negative habits.
