Start a YouTube Channel
I am sure at one point or another in your life you may have seen people on YouTube living life lavishly just from making videos on the internet and you may have wanted to do the same. In this section we will go over what it really takes to become a successful YouTuber and go from making nothing to making a living to making millions.
When You are just starting out the first thing you will need is a respectable camera and audio set up as well as a detailed plan on what type of content you will make. The good news is that in today’s day and age most new phones already have a respectable camera that you can use in the beginning. You can even use the mic on your phone and use ai software to correct the audio or you can get a cheap mic online if you wish. Once you know what equipment you will use for your videos you will want to spend a day just planning out your first 3 videos or so. Choose a genre of videos you want to shoot whether it’s pranks, restaurant reviews, videos on success, or whatever interests you that you believe will pertain to a large audience. After you figure out what genre you are going to build a following around spend the rest of the day writing down as many ideas as you can for videos. You should have multiple pages of ideas by the end of the day that you can use for your first videos. Look through your list at the end of the day and choose the one you like best for your first video. If you spend enough time on writing down those ideas you should have a video in that list that has great potential and it will just be up to you to execute on those ideas.
Now that you have a great idea to work with you will want to plan that video in more detail before actually getting to filming. In some cases you may want to plan a script for yourself but I would recommend just planning out key points that you can go through so that you can sound more natural in your video. However you plan your videos, just make sure that you know how long your video should be and what the time of your video will be filled with. You don’t want to make a video where half of it has no substance, having a detailed plan starting out will make sure you keep your viewers engaged.
Aside from thinking of ideas and filming videos, another major aspect of starting a YouTube channel is editing your videos. If you have the money to pay someone, it may be worth going on Fiverr.com and finding someone with good reviews for video editing. However, if I was just starting out I would search up “How to edit videos for YouTube” on YouTube and learn the process myself so that I can keep as much capital in my pocket until I begin turning a profit. Editing is where a lot of the real work of being a YouTuber will come in and it can be a timely process. As we have mentioned before, your video should be edited so that every minute of your video has something engaging to keep your viewers glued to their screens. Along with this you will want to choose a thumbnail that will capture your viewers’ attention and choose a name for your video that does the same as well as has potential to be searched by people on YouTube.
Although it may look easy, becoming a successful YouTuber is quite a grind especially when you are just starting out. The first thing that you must keep in mind is that unless people are already aware of your channel it is very hard for people to find your videos. That is why in the beginning the name of the game is marketing and consistency. Especially when just starting a channel I suggest posting a video EVERY SINGLE DAY if possible. Shoot your video during the day, edit your video in the afternoon and come up with new video ideas at night while also responding to every comment you get on your channel. Just like anything in life YouTube rewards the people that consistently put in the work and release new videos frequently. If you put out a video every single day you will have a 7 times higher chance at blowing up your channel than someone putting out just 1 video per week. Use this fact to your advantage and put in more work than the other YouTubers if you wish to make a living like this.
The last thing we will go over is a few different ways that you can market your YouTube channel. One of the most effective ways to market your channel is by putting out snippets of your videos on platforms like Instagram and Tik-Tok. I would start by creating 10 or so Tik-Tok accounts as well as a few Instagram and Facebook accounts to post reels on and uploading short clips of the best or funniest parts of your videos. If people don’t enjoy the highlights of your videos and give you some likes then that will show you that you may want to change your videos a bit. While you are editing your videos save every clip that you think would grab someone’s attention and make them visit your channel. Then go through each of the social accounts that you made and post a couple of the clips on them each day. If you are creating quality content one of your short form videos on one of the accounts should definitely gain some traction and you will start to see that translate to more views on YouTube.
Another way that is great for building a channel once you have a bit of traction is by holding giveaways for your subscribers. Make sure to tell everyone to like, comment and subscribe during each video and even if it is something that doesn’t cost money like winning a chance to be in a video or if there is something you are good at like art you can offer a free picture. Whatever it is that you are giving away it should be something that will make your target audience excited and you can make it based on a random person who is subscribed to your channel and following all of your socials or based on who is most active in your community. Your giveaway should promote interaction in your community because at the end of the day that is what you are trying to grow, a community of people that are sharing your videos with people they know. One of the most beneficial giveaways you can do is a giveaway based on who tags the most people on your clips on Instagram or Tik-Tok. I have gone as far as having people screenshot their messages to people about our project and giving the reward to the person who sent the project around the most. If you go this far with it though, the giveaway should be valuable, at least $500 in value I would recommend. But if you are just doing it based on a random subscriber then it does not have to be that much. The last tip I will give you is to reach out to other YouTubers in your niche to collab on a video or project. I would recommend reaching out to people with a similar number of subscribers as you so that they feel it is an even collaboration. You would be surprised how many people will be happy to collab with you because it is typically mutually beneficial for both channels.
*Once you have some traction or if you simply already have some money to invest in marketing your project, you can pay other people to post your clips on social media or get phones with different numbers to post from. Keep in mind if you are using the multiple phone method you should keep wifi turned off completely so the social platforms wont see your available networks. The more accounts you have posting your content the better chance you have of being seen of course and if you have 3 accounts posting rather than one then you have a 3 times better chance of getting seen. DO NOT try to do this on the same wifi network with multiple accounts of each social platform or if you are using static proxies be sure to do some heavy research because most methods will be outdated by the time you see them. However you do it always be careful to protect and separate your main account but if this is done correctly it can give you a huge advantage in this industry!
