Telegram Marketing
Not every business needs a telegram but when it comes to building a community of like minded people, Telegram is one of the best platforms you can use. I grew a business to $25 million in market cap almost solely with Telegram so believe me when I say there can be a lot to gain by building a good community on this platform. If you have a business that has a large community of passionate people who like to share ideas that is when I would recommend using Telegram. This subsection is going to go over the process I go through when building my Telegrams and how it can be applied to your business idea.
1. Creating Your Group. Telegram is essentially a platform that hosts chatrooms and forums that people create about different topics or brands. When you start out the first thing you will need to do is create a group based on your brand. It is a very simple process. You will just need to create a name for your group, add your brand logo to the group picture, add a short bio describing your group and its purpose, and add your website or preferred social link. It really is as simple as that. You don't have to overthink it. The more difficult part will be growing that group to 1,000s of members around the world.
2. Adding a Telegram Bot to your chat. A good Telegram bot will allow you to send recurring messages to your community automatically based on time increments that you set. This is great for reminding your chat about upcoming sales or partnerships once or twice a day. It also will provide some safety from spammers and people who just want to send profanity and nonsense in your chat. There are a lot of settings to play with on these. I personally recommend using a bot called Combot. You are best off searching on google how to set up Combot, but you will just really need to search for the Combot group on the Telegram app and that will guide you with prompts on how to add it to your chat. It can cost a little bit of money each month, about $10, but it is the best one that I have used personally. If you wish to use a similar free version search Rose on Telegram and that will bring you to a very similar free bot. Either way you want to have something to protect your chat from people jumping in and sending ad messages because it does happen a lot. Also be sure to take advantage of the automatic messages, it helps fill up the chat and provoke new messages when the chat is slow.
3. Growing your community.
A. DMing members of competitor groups- One of the most powerful things you can do on telegram is find other groups related to your project, click on the group and then check the members section. Here you can find all the members of any public group whom you can then message about what you are doing and promote your group. Make sure to be careful with this method though because if you have a new account or if you are sending to many messages (especially with links on the first message) you can get restricted or even banned very quickly. If your account is new you need to stay away from this for a month while joining groups and interacting naturally. Once your account is aged a bit you can then message a handful of people a day but I would not send more than 10 over 24 hours. Be careful with this but if you use it sparingly it can help get some valuable members in your community.
B. Giveaways. Giveaways are HUGE for growing any type of community. You can have your Combot announce a giveaway multiple times a day and send info about it in your bot messages. You should post your giveaways on every platform you have with a nice professional graphic that stands out. I like to do giveaways where people are rewarded for the amount of times they shill my brand to other people. Shilling is sending messages and making social media posts about your brand. I have group members and followers dm me screenshots of every shill they make. The winners will get a prize, maybe money, maybe a saved spot for something exclusive, maybe a product that I am selling and you will get so much exposure to your brand it is unbelievable. I usually make the prizes pretty big or do them very frequently so people feel it is worth their time. If they love you and your brand, people will fight for you, especially if you show how much effort you put into your business. This can also be used with our next section below.
C. Partnerships. A very important part of growing a Telegram or any other community is through partnerships. Please refer to the Instagram and general social media section for detailed information on how to form partnerships. The metrics and steps are very similar. In fact I often would use Twitter and Instagram partners mostly when it came to sponsored posts. In telegram it is great to make partnerships with other groups where they hold AMAs so you can share information about your brand or idea. It can be an amazing way to raise funding for a big idea especially. You should prepare for your questions and know what direction you should go just like you’re preparing a speech. It is not to mislead anybody but just to be prepared especially if you are afraid of speaking in front of a lot of people. Don't be afraid of this type of marketing if you believe in what you are doing. If people feel the passion you have for your project they will most likely believe in you as well.
