Understanding Your Past
Depression is simply focusing too much on past events that have caused you FEAR. Because of this the first step to dealing with your depression is understanding what events have caused you to feel this way and why. Take some time to confront those demons that you deal with on a day-to-day basis. At first it will be tough for sure. You will shed some tears, you may be angry at something or someone, but at the end of the day it is the only thing that will bring you closer to understanding and then bettering yourself.
An example in my life is I don’t really have a family and that has caused a lot of pain and depression in my life. My father was arrested when I was little, and my mother left me on the street when I was 18. I always knew this was the cause of a lot of mistrust and FEAR in my life but it was also important to understand why. For me that was because it has caused me to be afraid of being alone at anytime or losing the people that I love. This was the underlying FEAR of a lot of my depression I have felt in the past. The good news is to me depression is not an uncurable disease but simply a reminder for myself that I have FEAR that I must deal with in myself.
