WhatsApp Business
When you think of the app WhatsApp you may simply look at it as a peer-to-peer communication app like Facebook messenger. What many people don’t know is that it can be used for marketing and conducting business with the help of plugins and extensions. It can be used as a point of contact for your business, allowing you to reply with preset messages or you can use it to simply send out mass text messages to other WhatsApp users.
For using WhatsApp for business, you will want to create a business account rather than a personal account. This will allow you to send more messages without getting your account flagged. Once you have set up your business account, I recommend going on Chrome on your computer and going to web.whatsapp.com. This will allow you to use different plugins and chrome extensions with your WhatsApp as opposed to using the app on your phone which will not allow you to do that. It will also allow you to easily send videos and images that are saved to your computer.
The first thing you can do once you have set up your WhatsApp on your computer is use a mass message sender like rocketsender.io to send a message you write up to multiple WhatsApp numbers at once without sending the message as a group text. You can use this chrome extension to send offers to your list of previous customers, send a happy holidays message or to update customers on a new product or service you have added. The most valuable use in my opinion for this software however is for sending promotional texts to lists of WhatsApp numbers you have found or bought online. You can type up a message that promotes your brand or product in a creative attention-grabbing way, preferably with a video and link to your site and send it to a ton of people all at once. If your account gets shutdown, you can always use a number from an app like Talkatone to sign up for a new account.
As far as features within the WhatsApp business App there are plenty of tools there that you can use for running your business as well. Quick replies allow you to respond to frequently asked questions automatically. You can reply that your business is closed if it is after hours. You can also have it answer questions with a prewritten response. This tool can be great for saving you time with easy responses so you can focus on other aspects of your business.
Another feature that you should take advantage of on WhatsApp is creating groups. You can post your WhatsApp group link on your social media profiles and around the web in subreddits, Facebook groups, forums and anywhere else you can find potential customers for your business. Once you have a good size group built up you can encourage good conversation about your industry or brand while also sending video ads, promotions, and coupons every so often. This can be a great way to build a community around your brand and spread information about your business.
You can also use your WhatsApp business profile like a social media page. You should always have an updated status on your profile that is announcing new products or services or any deals or events that you have coming up. You can also post stories to your profile just like on other social media platforms. Unlike with reels and TikTok’s strangers will not be able to find your stories by scrolling through content. Instead, you will use this to update people in your contacts already with a video or picture they can view for 24 hours. You can also use this to promote deals or events that are going on that day.
A lot of people that use WhatsApp are typically from other countries around the world. So, keep in mind that it can be an amazing tool for trying to expand your brand to other areas. You will likely find much different audiences on WhatsApp than you may on platforms like Instagram or Facebook. Take advantage of this if you have an online business that can offer products or services over the web.
